a good exercise regiment

What is a good exercise regiment?
Firstly, I'm waay out of shape. I DONT exercise at all. I'm 19, 6'0 and weighs 270 pounds. I hate being the weight I am and I want change. I just moved into a new building that has a gym and pool that I have access at any time. So I want to start working on my weight and trying to gain muscle. (I really want be more attractive to the ladies, and not just skinny lol) My question is: What is a good exercise regiment to lose weight as well as gain muscle? How much walking on the treadmill, weightlifting, swimming, etc. Also for lifting, how should I raise? As far as I can? or less? and how many reps should I do? (Also, I realize what you eat is a big part of the evolution of your weight and I work on it. I already changed for most salads and protein for dinner like chicken breast low. Its hard to eat so little I xx)
I recommends swimming or running 3 x week and a full body weight routine week 2 XA. Start with 20 minutes of walking or swimming. Do not worry if you have stop just do a little walk until you catch your breath. When you can do 20 minutes non-stop increase time to 25 years for a couple weeks, then gradually build up to a maximum of 45 minutes. Your weight training routine should include press, squat bench, a vertical row, lifted off the ground, bent over row, shoulder press, chin cleft squat, pull-up or pullover and cracks around. Try starting with 1 or 2 sets of 10 repetitions and gradually increase to 3 sets after a few months. Start with light weights at the beginning until you learn the exercises correctly then increase the weight so it is difficult to complete the set. Good luck

The No Sweat Exercise Plan (A Harvard Medical School Book) $21.95 ''Insufficient exercise plays an important role in four of the 10 leading causes of death in the U.S., including heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes. And it may also contribute to the eighth leading killer, Alzheimer's disease.'' This is according to Simon (medicine, Harvard Medical Sch.; The Harvard Medical School Guide to Men's Health ), whose compelling wellness book teaches those ready to start an exercise and diet program how to do it and how to measure their progress. He offers in-depth explanations of why one should exercise, which exercises develop the cardiovascular system, why one should include weightlifting in a weekly routine, and why exercise becomes essential as one grows older. A chapter titled ''Exercise Therapy: Good for What Ails You'' explains why exercise leads to better outcomes for several conditions, among them stress, hypertension, diabetes, peripheral artery disease, and chronic fatigue. A discussion of nutrition and preventive medical care emphasizes what you should eat - not what you shouldn't . Excellent graphics are provided throughout, particularly in ''20 Guidelines for Healthful and Enjoyable Eating'' and ''Preventive Medical Services for Healthy Adults.'' Highly recommended for undergraduate, public health, public, and consumer health libraries. - Howard Fuller, Stanford Health Lib., Palo Alto, CA. |

In Good Company $24.95 Under the banner of corporate social responsibility (CSR), corporations have become increasingly important players in international development. These days, CSR's union of economics and ethics is virtually unquestioned as an antidote to harsh neoliberal reforms and the delinquency of the state, but nothing is straightforward about this apparently win-win formula. Chronicling transnational mining corporation Anglo American's pursuit of CSR, In Good Company explores what lies behind the movement's marriage of moral imperative and market discipline. From the company's global headquarters to its mineshafts in South Africa, Rajak reveals how CSR enables the corporation to accumulate and exercise power. Interested in CSR's vision of social improvement, Rajak highlights the dependency that the practice generates. This close examination of Africa's largest private sector employer not only brings critical attention to the dangers of corporate dominance, but also provides a lens through which to reflect on the wider global CSR movement. |
