aerobic exercise heart rate

I can not raise my heart rate during aerobic exercise?
Hello, I exercise regularly my gym, spin (stationary bike) classes, but can not raise my heart rate at the same level as others in the class! best I can reach is around 140bpm few minutes before having to reduce the rate of work, I am 42 years old btw. I done classes for about five years and work very hard, regularly get a point and lactic acid builds up in my legs. A domain health that may affect that I'm overweight for my height, 6 feet tall and 280 pounds. I trained as a sport so I'm used to work hard, I was a competitive weight lifting success for 15 years and retired five years ago. I'm wondering if the large amount of exercise anaerobic I did in the past is to limit my efforts in aerobic? Thank you, Mark
Mark, do not worry about getting your heart rate higher than others, you should compare it to you. I still can not remember what my heart rate should be when I exercise. Thank you to MS Resources for this information. 220-age maximum heart rate = (the fastest your heart can beat) (220-40 = 180 MHR) 60% -80% this maximum is your area THR: 60% max: 180 x 0.6 = 108 beats per minute, 80% max: 180 x 0.8 = 144 beats per min. So generous heart to a target age 40 working at 60-80% (up to 85% for very fit people) of its maximum heart rate is 108-144 beats / min. Check SparkPeople and their articles. It is a sit free.
