Best exercise to get rid of belly fat.....?

I have a fairly fit body, but I need help with my abs. I can physically feel the muscle, but I have a layer of fat before them. I know you can't target just one part of you body, so I am asking what exercise is the best for getting lean everywhere, especially abs? I need an affordable one (not P90X or Insanity or anything like that). DVDs I can get at the store (Walmart, Target, Kmart) or just exercises I could do at home without gym equipment. Please help and give me good suggestions. I'm really frustrated because I've tried Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred once before and got great toned (I was really out of shape before) but I tried it again and find it horribly boring and ineffective! Please help!

the key to losing body fat is training the body as a whole, the body loses and gains as a whole, not just in one area. You cannot spot train your body. You cannot expect to lose fat in your mid section just by doing cardio and abs because cardio increases your body's ability to burn fat, however muscle also burns fat as well. If you are not working your whole body out, then do not expect to see results in one area. Do exercises that you do not need weights for like squats, push ups, pull ups. You are going to have to add resistance at some point and time because your body will immune to everything......so weights and resistance bands or some sort of challenge or stress needs to be added to the muscle so it will react or grow. To me it is all mental, i cannot workout at home because i am in my home state mentally, you need to get prepared mentally like using a little bit of caffeine before your workouts(it is a great fat burner), or music(this is also a must when i workout).......block out everything when you workout......turn your phone off, turn your comp off, or try working out with a friend to motivate you and hold you accountable.
