anaerobic and aerobic exercise examples
Is weight lifting or aerobic exercise anaerobic?
The reason why I am confused about is b / c I'm getting mixed answers online. I do not need definitions, I aready understand what they mean. Just need to know where it belongs under weightlifting and WHY? I read that aerobic exercise involves large muscle groups and strengthen muscles. So it is low for a long period of time, however, anaerobic exercise (without oxygen) is of short duration, high intensity activities, such as weight lifting or training and marathon ....( I read) So, after this, should not be lifting anaerobic? and if so, why not anaerobic exercise that builds / strengthens muscles? this is what I am confused about. Example (if correct) does not seem to correspond to the definition ... Please help explain. And if I am wrong about this (I read both my book and online), so please let me know! Thank you. Also, I would really appreciate other examples if you can, to better understand it.
Aerobic and anaerobic exercise to make muscles stronger, but in different ways. Aerobic exercise makes the muscles longer able to perform steadily over time, while aerobic exercise to build more muscle mass and muscle training to provide large amounts of force short distances. Lifting weights is almost always anaerobic, unless you're lifting weights very low for more than 20 minutes straight without rest.
