Yoga breathing exercises or pranayama to free the mind

Yoga is not to be regarded as a simple series of movements clumsy useful to make your body supple and subtle. While yoga achieve this objective, the benefits are much deeper. The various components of yoga are all and without the fundamental yoga postures are just the physical movement. These elements, asanas, breathing, meditation and light when done correctly will become one with yourself and providing a level of consciousness not seen before.

Today we will take an eye in pranayama, the art of breathing and breath control. With pranayama we are aware of our journey so our lungs breathing. Although this exercise we'll talk a little difficult to master, your efforts will be worthwhile. Believe me.

This specific exercise is performed by a dull thud, still audible in the back of the throat while inhaling and exhaling through the nose. In this breathing practice, you'll be breathing deeply, while limiting the back of the throat allowing the air to swirl in the bottom of the groove so as to create a thud. The sound should be similar to the wind in the trees or ocean waves. Some people have also said that sound like the famous dark villan Star Wars: Darth Vader, but I do not think he was practicing pranayama. Follow the buzz because it will allow you to focus on synchronizing breath.

Some of you may have difficulty producing the humming sound, but it is a simple exercise to help you. Try to sit upright and deeply inhale through the nose and then exhale through the mouth, however, while exhaling to the back of the throat vibrate and hum or purr like you're whispering. You should be able to feel the air passing through the throat. Breath like this repeatedly, then halfway exhaling close your mouth and exhale through the nose.

The second part is also difficult to perform correctly. By breathing through your nose, you should try to reproduce the same sound swirling in the throat. Like all new things, with practice you can do this automatically, without effort.

With this breathing exercise, we must be totally relaxed, which may seem strange, but you also keep your facial muscles relaxed during the exercise. Your chest should not raise and your collarbone and is expected to increase only slightly in the fall.

We try to create a steady pace in our breath throughout the pranayama. Learn to listen to the breath to achieve the best results.

The correct position for pranayama

What is the correct position to perform this exercise pranayama? There is not one. It can be done sitting or lying down. In this article I mean lying down and I think it allows a greater level of relaxation. We will need some accessories for yoga blocks (, folded blankets, thick books, etc.) as your chest, neck and head must be lifted up. Your back should be slightly arched with your thighs and your buttocks on the floor while your upper back should be supported at a little less the same height as the tops of your thighs (8-10 inches), your neck and head must also be supported comfortably. It is important that your head is not tilted back, but slightly higher that of your neck. There is also a good idea to cover the eyes and ears.

Relax your throat and your body, try to focus on an imaginary point inside your chest. Gently close your eyes and look down towards the imaginary point, this will help you relax. If your eyes are looking up your mind will become full of intrusive thoughts. The next step is to breathe normally, become familiar with this position and your body. Fully expand your chest but do not stretch your diaphragm.

The next step is to breathe normally but slowly exhale and deeply releasing all the air in your lungs, feel you let your body. You should try as much as possible to synchronize the movement of your abdomen and diaphragm and keep the flow of your breathing steady at all times. Do this for about 15 cycles.

The next phase is the exact opposite of the previous one. Here we are breathing deeply but normally breathe without effort. You should experience your breath rising from your lower chest to the throat, be aware of this. After more than 15 cycles.

Finally, you'll be breathing in and out deeply and peacefully in a controlled manner, completely fill your lungs with air, then completely emptying your lungs. By year-end expiration. A further 15 cycles is sufficient.

When you're finished, sit quietly from the supports under your back and head, delete, and then lay on the ground in a posture Savasana "the corpse "and relax for 3-5 minutes.

If it is too difficult to do the humming sound in the throat, just to practice exercises breathing without sound. You can always practice later.
