My blood pressure is normal, but my heart beat fast, but my heart rate is normal, sometimes I feel my heart goes out to enlarge it, then the pain I experience. my doctor and my parents said it was just psychological. I lost 65 pounds of my weight, but I still have pain in the chest. I do not diet exercise, monitoring blood pressure, but i experience chest pain. Thank you God bless you, always read the Bible it may help to avoid sin.
Go a cardiologist, a specialist in heart disease. Tell him "everything." I mean "everything". I stopped smoking 15 years ago came the Action Thanksgiving (2007). Completely exclude the possibility of a heart problem. Congratulations on losing weight and stop smoking, and I hope that the loss was not in a short period of time, which could be unhealthy. Tell the doctor if you are short of breath, weakness faster than normal, the light head (vertigo), feeling your heart beat racing or irregular basis. Hard to believe that you have a "fast" heartbeat and a normal heart rate '. If you change doctors .... Preferably a doctor not affiliated with the group your current doctor belongs. Do not wait, please.

Monitoring Forest Biodiversity $99.95 The fate of much of the world's terrestrial biodiversity depends upon our ability to improve the management of forest ecosystems that have already been substantially modified by humans. Monitoring is an essential ingredient in meeting this challenge, allowing us to measure the impact of different human activities on biodiversity and identify more responsible ways of managing the environment. Nevertheless many biodiversity monitoring programs are criticised as being little more than "tick the box" compliance exercises that waste precious resources and erode the credibility of science in the eyes of decision makers and conservation investors. The purpose of this book is to examine the factors that make biodiversity monitoring programs fail or succeed. The first two sections lay out the context and importance of biodiversity monitoring, and shed light on some of the key challenges that have confounded many efforts to date. The third and main section presents an operational framework for developing monitoring programs that have the potential to make a meaningful contribution to forest management. Discussion covers the scoping, design and implementation stages of a forest biodiversity monitoring program, including defining the purpose, goals and objectives of monitoring, indicator selection, and the process of data collection, analysis and interpretation. Underpinning the book is the belief that biodiversity monitoring should be viewed not as a stand-alone exercise in surveillance but rather as an explicit mechanism for learning about how to improve opportunities for conservation. To be successful in this task, monitoring needs to be grounded in clear goals and objectives, effective in generating reliable assessments of changes in biodiversity and realistic in light of real-world financial, logistical and social constraints. |

Haemodynamic Monitoring & Manipulation $9.58 The adequacy of the cardio respiratory system can generally be gauged from basic clinical signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate and depth, skin texture and colour, use of accessory muscles of respiration and mental status. These basic signs should never be ignored, but in critical illness, basic clinical assessment alone may be unreliable and misleading. Therefore further monitoring techniques are usually required. Cardiac output and the circulation can be manipulated by ?uid and drug administration to ensure good oxygen delivery to the tissues but in order to do this, ongoing monitoring is required. Many healthcare professionals ?nd it difficult to get to grips with the more complex forms of haemodynamic monitoring and the use of inotropic and vasoactive agents; indeed these things can seem rather daunting. If you work your way through this book and carry out the exercises, you will soon become more con?dent and competent about haemodynamic monitoring and manipulation as well as understanding all the information that initially seems so complicated. |

Cardiovascular Responses to Exercise $40 Exercise is the act of increasing metabolic rate for the purpose of enhancing physical fitness. Exercise can be one of the most stressful physiological responses that the body undertakes. With exercise, there are increases in metabolic rate, heart rate, blood flow (hyperemia), respiration, and heat production. The increased metabolic requirement during exercise is well met by an increased blood flow (functional hyperemia) and oxygen supply to the exercising tissue, which is regulated by multiple local and systemic mechanisms. The local mechanisms (factors) are responsible for mediating the muscle homeostasis and vascular conductance to match the increased metabolic requirement, whereas the systemic mechanisms are responsible for the maintenance of blood pressure and global cardiovascular homeostasis, including the increase in and redistribution of cardiac output, which is mainly mediated by sympathetic activation. For instance, the substantial decreases in vascular resistance and resultant large increase in blood flow during exercise require higher blood pressure and more cardiac output, such that the metabolically active muscle can be perfused with adequate blood flow. This book will provide an overview of the cardiovascular responses to exercise under physiological conditions as well as some pathological circumstances. Table of Contents: Capillary Perfusion in Skeletal Muscle During Exercise / Local Control of Arteriolar Diameter and Blood Flow During Exercise / Systemic Control of Cardiovascular Response to Exercise / Cardiovascular Response to Exercise under Pathological Conditions / References / Author Biography |

Handbook of Growth and Growth Monitoring in Health and Disease $949 Growth is one of the human body's most intricate processes: each body part or region has its own unique growth patterns. Yet at the individual and population levels, growth patterns are sensitive to adverse conditions, genetic predispositions, and environmental changes. And despite the body's capacity to compensate for these developmental setbacks, the effects may be far-reaching, even life-long. The Handbook of Growth and Growth Monitoring in Health and Disease brings this significant and complex field together in one comprehensive volume: impact of adverse variables on growth patterns; issues at different stages of prenatal development, childhood, and adolescence; aspects of catch-up growth, endocrine regulation, and sexual maturation; screening and assessment methods; and international perspectives. Tables and diagrams, applications to other areas of health and disease, and summary points help make the information easier to retain. Together, these 140 self-contained chapters in 15 sections [ok?] cover every area of human growth, including: Intrauterine growth retardation. Postnatal growth in normal and abnormal situations. Cells and growth of tissues. Sensory growth and development. Effects of disease on growth. Methods and standards for assessment of growth, and more. The Handbook of Growth and Growth Monitoring in Health and Disease is an invaluable addition to the reference libraries of a wide range of health professionals, among them health scientists, physicians, physiologists, nutritionists, dieticians, nurses, public health researchers, epidemiologists, exercise physiologists, and physical therapists. It is also useful to college-level students and faculty in the health disciplines, and to policymakers and health economists. |

The No Sweat Exercise Plan (A Harvard Medical School Book) $21.95 ''Insufficient exercise plays an important role in four of the 10 leading causes of death in the U.S., including heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes. And it may also contribute to the eighth leading killer, Alzheimer's disease.'' This is according to Simon (medicine, Harvard Medical Sch.; The Harvard Medical School Guide to Men's Health ), whose compelling wellness book teaches those ready to start an exercise and diet program how to do it and how to measure their progress. He offers in-depth explanations of why one should exercise, which exercises develop the cardiovascular system, why one should include weightlifting in a weekly routine, and why exercise becomes essential as one grows older. A chapter titled ''Exercise Therapy: Good for What Ails You'' explains why exercise leads to better outcomes for several conditions, among them stress, hypertension, diabetes, peripheral artery disease, and chronic fatigue. A discussion of nutrition and preventive medical care emphasizes what you should eat - not what you shouldn't . Excellent graphics are provided throughout, particularly in ''20 Guidelines for Healthful and Enjoyable Eating'' and ''Preventive Medical Services for Healthy Adults.'' Highly recommended for undergraduate, public health, public, and consumer health libraries. - Howard Fuller, Stanford Health Lib., Palo Alto, CA. |
