I have some questions about the Wii and Wii Fit?

1. Why the Wii is set up to communicate with the Internet? Is it necessary for the operation, or is it simply that allow you to play games online and get the latest software? 2. I understand that I need to spend approximately $ 335 for a Wii and Wii Fit, regardless of whether I buy them separately or as a bundle? 3. Assuming I want a new unit with a reliable supplier, is my best bet to buy on Amazon? 4. I know there are lots of accessories. Which ones would be considered "must have" add-ons, if any? 5. My wife had carpal tunnel several years ago and her wrists bother sometimes, but she really needs a little exercise. Does Wii Fit have many exercises that will not put emphasis on his wrists? Thank you in advance. I know that I am very demanding.

1. Wii can be connected to the Internet (but must) for shopping, online games, and play with friends. 2. Wii used come cheaper, but those tend to be super damaged and not worth it. 3. Sometimes the machine can break during shipping, So I would just buy it where it is sold near you. 4. The Wii comes with one controller, so I recommend getting another controller you can play with friends. Most everything else is small if you're not a "professional gambler". 5. Most aerobics and balance exercises using almost no wrist at all. Some of the yoga and strength implies wrist, but there are many Lower body stuff as well.
